Did you ever know someone who was too smart for their own good? That's me. Not that I'm particularly smart (he o' men is wisest, who, like Socrates, knows that in fact his wisdom is nothing). It might be better to say that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and I've got more than enough to get myself into a ton of trouble.

What do I do? Basically I'm a lazy bum whenever I get the opportunity. I make a few bucks now and again working as a Massage Therapist and doing Page Layout and Graphics design. In the past I've had a lot of jobs with rough characters that don't shave or bathe often enough. I've welded, worked all sorts of metal, turned wrenches on trucks, drove trucks, canned strawberries, worked in a print shop, changed tires, and built houses. I can drive anything with wheels or tracks except a train and I'm willing to bet I could figure that out.

I can write a sonnet, roast a turkey, change the oil in your car, diaper your baby, light a fire, sew a quilt, shoot better than most cops, treat a cramp, wire a light, build a treehouse, medicate your cat, and on a good day I can walk five miles in an hour and a half.

On the other hand, I can't sing, I can't draw, I have a loud voice, can't stand dogs, don't clean my apartment often enough, and I have an opinion about everything and will tell it to you.

Frightened yet?

I'm divorced, with no kids. Women confound me. I get along with them just fine until one of us starts being attracted to the other. Then all hell breaks loose. As a consequence I treat all women as guilty until proven innocent. Have you ever heard of an innocent woman? I thought not.

I ride a motorcycle. Occasionally I crash it. This will probably continue. I don't like Harleys. They are big, heavy, uncomfortable, unreliable, poor handling, vibratory, underpowered, and trendy. I don't do trendy. My motorcycle right now is a Triumph Speed Triple. Check out the Wikipedia entry for "Speed Triple." I wrote it. (mostly it was me.) I belong to the online forum thespeedtriple.com and I'm an active member. They think I'm crazy too.

I write fiction, slowly and rarely finished. Mostly it is science fiction of some kind. I generally don't do fanfic (although I did do it one time.) I've also been known to write erotic fiction. If this makes you feel uncomfortable you should know I don't care. If you ask nicely I'll link you to it.

I use an Apple Macintosh computer. I don't apologize for that. I've been using them for longer than I care to remember. They've always worked well for me. If you tell me about your PC problems I will laugh at you.

I live in Vancouver Washington. That's the ORIGINAL Vancouver, not that other Vancouver in Canada. It's a very pretty place and I like it. I have family and friends here. It works for us. The other Vancouver is also a very nice place. I spend some time in Portland Oregon, because it's just across the river from me. Portland is also a nice place. I recommend you visit someday. I also spend time up the Columbia River Gorge now and again. This is one of the prettiest places on earth. It's less than 45 minutes away from my house.

I have one younger brother. To date he has twelve children. You may think this is crazy. So do I.

I'm a practicing Massage Therapist which I've been doing since the beginning of 2008. Independent sources tell me I'm pretty good. I have a lot of clients who are Doctors and Nurses, but people who believe in reflexology, acupuncture, reiki or other "alternative" methods don't get along with me very well. Curiously enough, Dead Doctors Do NOT Lie, but conversely neither do they tell the truth. By manipulating your muscles and tissues I can help relieve you of pain and treat some muscular skeletal injuries. I try to keep an open mind, but not so open my brain falls out.

So that's my life in a nutshell.
